Description

I’m excited to share a brand-new program for 2026: the 100th Monkey Yoga Sutras Class — an immersive study of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras created especially for our Fellowships community.
The Sutras contain 195 aphorisms across four chapters. For thousands of years, these teachings have guided seekers through the practical and spiritual dimensions of Yoga. Their power lies in their clarity, simplicity, and direct application to daily life.
What We’ll Explore 🔍
Across three weekends, we’ll dive deeply into all four chapters:
Chapter 1
Deepening your awareness and understanding of meditation.
Chapter 2
Appreciating the broad lifestyle teachings and their practical relevance.
Chapter 3
Exploring the deeper meanings and effects of the meditation sutras.
Chapter 4
Clarifying the long-term effects of dedicated spiritual practice.
This is not the “Monkey 3” you’ve been asking for — but it is open to anyone who has completed Monkey 1. Last offered in 2021, this course returns to the sacred texts that support our meditation tradition.
Why This Course, Why Now 🌟
For decades, I’ve studied numerous translations and commentaries on the Yoga Sutras. Since our Monkey classes have focused heavily on the Bhagavad Gita, it feels like the right time to explore this equally profound text together.
Many of you have asked about the deeper meanings of the sutras used in meditation. I’ve avoided teaching them because they are often misunderstood as “powers,” but your commitment to meditation and your depth in the Silence have inspired me to offer this teaching now.
The Siddhis, outlined in Chapter 3, describe human potential far beyond everyday experience. Their purpose is not to be pursued as abilities, but to support deeper meditative expansion. Used innocently — as we have done for years — they help you move more quickly into the Unbounded, with natural benefits appearing in daily life. ✨
