Who
was the real Mary Magdeline?
The Bible would have us believe she was a harlot with seven demons. Yet
history tells us she was a woman of means who was devoted to Jesus and
was one of his disciples. I have been privileged to be told her story
from her perspective by Spirit. This has been a journey of ten years in
which I have grown to know her very well. As her life was unfolded to me
I found her to be a warm, humble person whose strength and devotion was
a strong foundation in the journey of the Christ on earth. She is very
different than she has been portrayed and her relationship to Jesus was
so shocking that the early church hid it and made her into a woman of
sin and shame. None of that is true.
I will gladly share her story for in many ways it is the story of
every woman who has loved a man whose power and influence changed the
world.
Rev. Penny Donovan has been a naturally gifted channel since
childhood. After being ordained in 1960 by Rev. Edith Sandy Wendling,
she founded the Trinity Temple of the Holy Spirit Church in Albany, NY,
where she served as Pastor for 37 years. She is the author of several
books on spirituality and is currently working on another book. Penny
resides in Albany, NY, and travels extensively with her teaching
schedule.
