Whether or not we believe in reincarnation, one point is sure: no one comes into the world as a blank slate. Every baby is born with a nature--and children born into the same families often turn out very differently. Understood in the light of the idea of reincarnation, these phenomena begin to make sense. But how can we understand them astrologically? Until recently, even among metaphysical astrologers, the answer hasn't gone very far beyond vague references to the south lunar node. Over the past decade or so, under the banner of Evolutionary Astrology, a set of very specific techniques have emerged for sorting the past life story out of the present birthchart. These methodologies do involve the Moon's south node, but also its ruler and the planetary aspects it makes, ultimately reframing the entire chart as the result of prior-life dynamics--and meaningful present-life evolutionary intentions.
What about the charge that an astrologer could "say anything" about an alleged past life and no one could prove him or her wrong? Fair enough--but the proof of the pudding is the way the "karmic" pattern tends to repeat itself in the present lifetime where it can be observed directly, and hopefully, broken. This workshop is based on Steven's book Yesterday's Sky published in 2008. In this weekend seminar, we'll go further, use more examples, and introduce new techniques
